If you meet the following requirements, you may apply for a Tier 5 temporary working visa:
- You must have a job offer from a licensed employer in the United Kingdom (sponsor).
- A valid sponsorship certificate.
- Passport and/or valid travel identification of the applicant.
- Previous passports of the applicant (if held any)
- Personal Bank – Proof of Maintenance Requirements Statements or confirmations from your A-rated sponsor about maintenance and accommodations, if necessary.
- The results of your tuberculosis (TB) test, if your country is on the list of where one must take the test.
Moreover, the earliest you can begin the application procedure for a UK Temporary Work Visa is three months. This date is printed on your sponsorship certificate.
Categories of Tier 5 Temporary Work Visas
As previously discussed following are the categories of Tier 5 Temporary Work visas in detail:
Visas for the Performing Arts and Elite Sportspeople:
For those in the performing arts and elite sportspeople. Your family is allowed to join you in the UK for a maximum of 12 months on a visa.
Charity Worker Visa:
This visa is for people who are engaged with unpaid charitable work. Your family is allowed to join you in the UK for a maximum of 12 months on a visa.
Religious Worker Visa:
This visa is for individuals who work in the religious field (i.e. preaching or pastoral care). Your family is allowed to join you in the UK for a maximum of two years on a visa.
These visas are for people who are coming to the UK through approved government initiatives to do work experience. Your family is allowed to join you in the UK for a maximum of two years on a visa.
Visas for People Employed Under International Agreements:
For People Employed Under International Agreements (i.e. GATS, overseas government organization employees, and servants employed privately in diplomatic households). Your family is allowed to join you in the UK for a maximum of two years on a visa.
Youth Mobility Scheme:
For young people aged 18 to 30 who are Australian, Canadian, Japanese, New Zealand, Monaco, South Korea, or Taiwanese nationals, or young people with British Overseas citizenship, British Overseas Territories Citizens, or British Nationals Overseas citizenship.
As a dependent of a Tier 5 visa holder, your partner or child under the age of 18 can apply to join you in the UK. Your dependents must apply at the same time and pay the healthcare premium as part of the application process. In addition to the £945, you must have to sustain yourself, you must also meet additional financial requirements for your dependents.
Duration of Visa:
After you’ve applied online, you’ll normally hear back within three weeks if you applied from outside UK or 8 weeks for the inland application.

You, your partner, or your children will all need to do the following:
- Proving you have enough personal funds to pay the healthcare surcharge, which is normally £624 per year
- Each applicant must pay a £244 application fee.

What Can You Do With a Tier 5 Temporary Worker Visa in the UK?
With the UK Temporary Worker Visa, there are some restrictions on what you may and cannot do as following;
- Study as long as your studies do not interfere with your work.
- Work on a second job for up to 20 hours per week in the same industry and at the same level as your primary work.
- Bring along family members (spouse, children under 18, and children over 18 who are in the UK as your dependents).
- However, with a UK Temporary Worker Visa, you will not be able to access public money, find permanent employment, or start your own business.
