Online Visa for Pakistan allows eligible travelers from around the world to apply for Pakistani visa online, without the need to go to a local Pakistani consulate or embassy. Pakistan’s popularity as a travel destination is growing rapidly, especially amongst young travelers looking to explore the beautiful landscapes that the country has on offer. Since December 2018, the Government of Pakistan has introduced a new online visa application process for travelers from across the world.

There are various types of Pakistani visas  that can be applied electronically  through the “Pakistan Online Visa System.”

Where to submit an application for online visa for Pakistan?

The  application for Pakistan e-Visa can be submitted on the official website of NADRA (Government of Pakistan) . Please be aware that this is the only official website to lodge the online visa application for Pakistan. Any other website claiming to be the official partner or working in collaboration with NADRA (Government of Pakistan) is only making a false claim.

Citizens belonging to all the 191 countries listed above have the option of applying for a Pakistani e-Visa on the NADRA website. Though, the option of using the online application system for the purpose of obtaining the Pakistani visa on arrival for the tourist category is only available to citizens of 65 eligible countries. Pakistani visa on arrival under the business visitor category can be applied online by nationals of 97 eligible countries

Documents required for an e-Visa to Pakistan

Foreign nationals must upload required supporting documents as part of their online visa application. The actual list of documents can vary based on the type of Pakistani visa being applied for. For the guidance of our readers the basic requirements are listed below. 

  • Fill out the online application form; you will be asked to provide basic personal information. 
  • A valid passport issued by a country that is eligible for the type of visa.
  • An email address where the approved Pakistan e-Visa can be sent
  • A means of payment for the visa fee, such as a credit or debit card
  • Digital photograph
  • Business invitation letter (Business visitor)
  • Hotel booking (Tourist) 

Business visitors are further facilitated to obtain invite letter digitally by using the  E-Business Invitation Letter facility of the Government of Pakistan. 

Pakistan e-Visa Application Fees

The cost of an e-Visa to Pakistan ranges from 60 USD to 90 USD per passport. The payment can be made through a credit card/debit card online during the application submission process. The up to date information on the cost of the online visa for Pakistan, can be found here. 

Processing Time

Visa processing times vary slightly depending on the type of visa application. Usually, the visa on arrival applications are processed within 72 hours. Regular visitor visa applications submitted through the Pakistan online visa application system are processed within 7-10 working days and business visa applications take about 4 weeks. 

The e-Visa technology introduced by Pakistan has been a great success as it has streamlined the application procedure and replaced the cumbersome process of applying for a visa in person at a Pakistani consulate, embassy, or high commission.

Important Note:

Only fully vaccinated travelers aged 18 and over will be permitted to travel to and from Pakistan on domestic and international flights beginning February 24, 2022.
